I've done a bit of thinking about Scar. It's like that old movie "Twins" where one twin got all the good genes and the other got the short end of the stick.
Scar is a little fella. He's pretty, but he's small and puny, which made him mean, and jealous. There must be an awful lot of inbreeding in this pride, though Disney never uses language to imply that. These cubs all have the same father, so is it any wonder a few like Scar show up. And to make matters worse, in the second movie, Scar has a "nephew" (oh, har, har, har...) whose mother is Scar's favorite lioness. The poor kid is not only small and puny, but scraggy-looking and feeble-minded.
